I am a wife and proud mother of two young adult boys. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Marketing and Management and have a career as a training manager at a software services company for the last 26 years.

In 2014, I started experiencing digestive issues. After lots and lots of tests, it was discovered that I have a Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor (PNET/VIPoma) with metastasis to the liver. Since then, I’ve had monthly treatments (Sandostatin), daily Octreotide injections, major surgery to remove the tumor, ablation, bland embolization, multiple hospitalizations for dehydration, and finally PRRT. I currently see a local oncologist in Omaha as well as a team of doctors at the University of Iowa. I am also an NCAN Nebraska support group leader where I connect NET patients to discuss our common issues, provide tips, and have productive conversations. Throughout all of this, I have continued to work and live my life as normally as possible.
